Roughrider is the "founder" of this group, and it applies to everybody in the group. The 'rough' may connote a negative thing, but not in this case. The rough is the member's skills in navigating heavy and rough and difficult terrain. After all, if one owns a Harley, it must be pushed to the limits, right?
