Ok i know many dont like the silver motor but its about the only colour other than the Red hot Denim going on mine.
We ran thru the parts and accessories book yesterday removing any and all chrome that is easily replaced, including the sliders off a Fat Bob which are black and the rubber fork boots off a Night Train.
well i am stuck with the choice of bar currently i have not added a bar to the spec sheet as i like the apes but am thinking Street Slammer as the bike will look more street bike than bobber due to the stance it will have - 2" closer to the ground than stock, and wrapped pipes yes i am black wrapping the pipes (short shots with Quiet baffles).

Love the mini-apes on my bobber, no way I will ever replace them. I say ride it a while and decide if you like it. Street Slammers are nice but the mini-apes give it that nice bob look.

Have Wild1 501s on order, which i'm hoping will extend the lines of the front fork but still handle like drags. Prior owner put what looks like lowrider bars on it, handles like a dream but too low, and too much of a reach. My 50 year old back can't do that for more than an hour or so.

I gotta go with the slammers, I just think they would give the bike an 'evilly cool' look. Can't wait to see the pix. (BTW, this is based on my totally inexperienced opinion)

Howdy, I have an 07 and have changed to 91-95 lowrider bars and risers and back to the mini apes . If you like an "arms out riding position similar to drag bars, then you will like the street slammers - you will have to buy a top tree as the risers are caast into the 08 and 09's.

Thanks! Those are very nice. When I sat on the Street Bob at the dealer, the mini-apes were just about right for me, but it would be interesting to see how the slammer changes the riding position...They look good, too!!

Another vote for the street slammers!!. I have em and love them. I know on my wideglide they give me a chopper like feeling. I extended the forwards +3" so it gives me a more laid back ride..

Don't you have to change out the triple tree in order to change bars on an 09 bob? i have an 09 bob too (pics coming soon) and would love drag bars.

Moved up to 14inch apes and changed the front tire over to a 16inch with no fender. ever moving forward to the old skool look.

If the mini apes fit you comfortably, then don't change to street slammers. The bars are lower and closer, so they will take you from hands at about heart height to just under your rib cage and move your arms about 3" in. Stay with the apes. JMHO

Don't know if you can get them in black, but any good aftermarket metal finisher can make it in flat black or anodized or any chemically/electrically applied finish that are extremely scratch resistant and durable.

Oh yeah, I put on a medium Fox Creek tool bag with fastach clips/buckles and features for $60 mounts to the bar and just above the headlight in 10 minutes...fits perfect and blends right in.

Like tall ape hangers on a bob. Only bike they look good on IMHO.

But the Slammers kick on this bike.
I've got 'em, I love 'em. The wide grip make me feel real bad.

As you can see I put a tool bag on my riser. Love the retro look it gives the bike. I'm tall 6'2" and my shoulders never hurt on long rides anymore. 600 miles a day and they're great.
I plan on internal wiring them in the next couple weeks. Braided cables, move the signals to the top of the tree, and I'm done.
For now!

I am also a fan of the slammers. You will need new cables, the ones from a Night Train will fit as that is what I used when I converted.
